Apple to finally ditch "Lightning Port" | DoctorTech

According to the recent report published in The Wall Street Journal, US giant Apple is planning to ditch their trademark Lightning Port from their upcoming models of iPhone and even iPad.

Lightning Port and lightning cables were first introduced by Apple CEO Tim Cook back in 2012, before which Apple was using the famous 30-Pin connector. So it will be the third transition of charging port by Apple.

Apple is dropping the charging port from Lightning to the popular USB Type-C charging port, which every smartphone maker is opting for now a days.

It is expected, Apple's upcoming iPhone's i.e. iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be featuring USB Type-C ports and the new iPad's will also be having USB Type-C port.

Adding to the speculations, it is also rumored that Apple is also bringing bigger Full HD Curved OLED Screen panels to their new iPhone's, which will be IP68, which means newer iPhone's will work perfectly fine beneath 1.5 meter in water for 30 min and will be without any Home Button.
